The party will feature live performances including music with Kelly Orphan, and poetry, storytelling & comedy with members of the Herstories Project. New Orleans style gumbo and other delicious food & drink. Get ready to move to live Brazilian batucada music and passionate and full-energy dancing with the best latin beats from the Americas, DJ's including Betsy-La, a native of Oakland, using electronic instruments and beats to weave together sacred sounds from every continent - Asian underground, Latin house, didgeridu breakbeats, tribal trance. Get comfy in Zakary Zide's asian dub ambient slide show lounge and chill passionately with some chai as you sink into sights, sounds and aromas from around the world . . ... And finally an incredible silent auction & raffle to give away over $1,500 worth of great prizes.

The Herstories Project is a community based multi-disciplinary performance and art project collecting and bringing into interactive performance women's contemporary and ancestral stories of difference, struggle, resistance, community, survival and achievement. The Herstories Project is partially funded by a grant from the City of Oakland Cultural Funding Program and supported by the Oakland City Council and Epic Arts http://www.epicarts.org/
We are counting on our community for additional support to put this show on the road and perform for Women's History Month in March. We invite you to come to our event!
