Congresswoman Barbara Lee will speak at a World AIDS Day event, “Rally for Africa’s Right to Health” sponsored by the Priority Africa Network on Monday, December 1 at the Oakland Federal Building, 1301 Clay Street, from noon to 1:00 p.m. The event organizers are demanding that President Bush and Congress allocate the $15 billion for AIDS services in Africa that the president promised in his January 2003 State of the Union Address. Three hundred pairs of shoes will be on display to symbolize the Africans who will die of AIDS-related causes in the hour that the rally takes place.
