the peace MOVEment, now a monthly, attempts to invite the whole self into conversations of peace. It inspires these conversations through dialogue, dance, music, and intentional community building. It is our belief that peace is not the absence of something but the presence of something. It is a dynamic energy that guides sustainable and loving relationships with ourselves, our communities, and our environment. Join us and "give peace a dance."
We hope this can be a space to non-violently introduce people to contemplating peace and social justice as well as supporting grassroots activists and socially concerned citizens with a consitent practice to create focus and energy in their work and daily lives.
This is the vision of Dj's Discaya and Astro.
DJ Astro is a musician who fuses Dj'ing, healing and social justice issues into a compelling mix of sound and consciousness. Equally at home in dance clubs, performance spaces, or his studio, Astro is pioneering the way people listen to and relate to electronic music. He has spun at all types of venues throughout New York, Florida and California in the ten+ years that he has been entertaining and educating audiences.
- Modern Nomad Magazine
DJ Discaya, Jonathan Relucio, combines the unique properties of freestyle dance, house music, and playful improvisation with intentional inquiries around the power of nonviolence. He believes that freestyle dance as a process of inquiry, contemplation, and action offers people a relaxed entry point into the world of transformative nonviolence and justice-making. Jonathan is a disc jockey of the Divinyl Echo collective, an Interplay practitioner, a trainer for Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service, and a recent graduate of the Master’s of Liberal Arts degree program in Creation Spirituality at Naropa University.
