The United Nations Association-USA, East Bay Chapter and its co-sponsors invite you to explore children’s rights, refugees, and peacemaking in the Middle East. Join us for a panel discussion by United Nations’ experts and workshops on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the UN Role in Peacemaking, Refugees, and Children’s Education in Conflict Resolution. A reception for speakers and participants will take place at the International House following the conference. UN Speakers: • Raymond Sommereyns, Director, Outreach Division, Department of Public Information, United Nations • Maher Nasser, Chief of the New York Liaison Office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East • Dr. Saudamini Siegrist, Project Officer, UNICEF, Office of Emergency Programmes Admission: Donations appreciated. Proceeds benefit UNICEF projects in the region.
