Fisk, the renowned Middle East correspondent for The Independent of London, spent part of the Iraq war and the beginning of the occupation as an unembedded reporter in Baghdad. His in-depth descriptions and insightful analysis of the situation on the ground in Iraq’s capital kept people all over the world informed of what was really going on behind the sound bites about liberation and gratitude.
Known for his hard-hitting commentary and the extensive knowledge gained from a quarter century of experience reporting from the Middle East, Fisk has received more awards for journalistic excellence than any other British foreign correspondent.
Tickets are $10-$25 sliding scale (noone turned away for lack of funds). Proceeds benefit Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.
