Join author Ernest Callenbach and folks from the Buffalo Field Campaign as they talk about their efforts to protect America's last wild, free-ranging buffalo located in Yellowstone National Park. Hear about the Buffalo Field Campaign's work to protect the buffalo from the state of Montana, who has killed 3,500 buffalo since 1985, and their campaign to gain protection under the Endangered Species Act for the herd.
Ernest Callenbachbecame familiar with the fight to protect the buffalo of Yellowstone while writing "Bring Back the Buffalo! A Sustainable Future for the Great Plains" in 1996. Callenbach’s novel "Ecotopia" (1975), a portrait of a future ecologically sustainable society, became an underground classic and is still used in classrooms from Florida to Washington State. It has sold more than 650,000 copies and has been translated into nine languages. Callenbach's other books include "Ecotopia Emerging," and "Ecology: A Pocket Guide."
Come learn aboutone of our true national treasures - the wild buffalo of Yellowstone - in an evening of music, video presentations and great speakers.
