Break the Chains Conference August 9-10, 2003 Eugene, Oregon The Break The Chains Conference is dedicated to fighting repression, supporting prisoners, and eliminating prisons altogether. By providing anti-prison education, building on existing prisoner support efforts, learning from veteran prison activists, and initiating new campaigns against the prison industrial complex, we want to use this conference to initiate a new era of heightened prisoner support and anti-prison activism. Speakers include: Ramzy Baroud, Rita “Bo” Brown, Safiya Bukhari, Chrystos, Ward Churchill, Dacajeweiah (Splitting the Sky), Matt Hart, Derrick Jensen, Vikki Law, Claude Marks, Ed Mead, Stormy Ogden, Craig Rosebraugh, Jesus Sepulveda, Peter Urban, Laura Whitehorn and more! The conference is free, and will be held at the Education Building, located at 16th & Alder, on the University of Oregon campus, from 9am to 6pm, on Saturday, August 9th, and Sunday, August 10th.
