Lake Merritt Neighbors Organized for Peace (LMNOP) invites you to join us on a weekly peace walk around beautiful Lake Merritt in the heart of Oakland. We gather at 3:00 every Sunday at the east end of the Lake, as described above. After brief announcements, we walk leisurely & relatively quietly, talking with each other, & waving to cars who honk in support. Many people bring peace signs. We usually have 40 to 100 people, although the day the bombing of Afghanistan started we had 200. We'd like to have that many & more every week so please come & join us. It's a beautiful location, a nice walk (almost 3 miles) with like-minded folks, and an easy, pleasant way to show your opposition to this horrible war.
