Having reached the limit of what the earth can sustain, we humans must find new ways to inhabit the planet. Joe Kennedy, co-editor, The Art of Natural Building, will lecture and present a slide show on how ordinary people using natural materials can and have built homes that are beautiful, low-cost and environmentally-sensible. Dedicated to serving the underhoused of the world through his group Builders Without Borders, with projects on the US/Mexico border, US Indian reservations, and Afghanistan, Joe Kennedy, architect, builder, educator and writer, and currently faculty member in the EcoDwelling concentration at New College of California, takes a fresh look at building techniques long shunned by the construction industry. The event takes place May 20, at 7 pm, at New College Theater, 777 Valencia St (near 19th) in San Francisco. FREE Call: 415-437-3497.
