“Drive To Survive” Caravan of Hybrid, Hydrogen and Alternative Fuel Vehicles in San Francisco this Friday. The Drive to Survive will fire up its clean engines in Los Angeles May 1st and arrive at San Francisco Presidio’s Inspiration Point at 10:00 AM Friday May 2nd. Two weeks later this cross country caravan will roll into Washington DC to deliver a petition to the US Congress demanding accessible renewable energy sources for the citizens of this country. The Drive to Survive campaign, led by Actor and Community Leader Dennis Weaver is staging media and educational expos in major US cities to "Drive Hydrogen Home." Proceed on Arguello less than a quarter mile, to the Inspiration Point trailhead on the right side of the road. Details: There is a 20-vehicle parking lot at the Inspiration Point trailhead, with one designated handicapped spot. No restrooms or drinking water. No parking or entrance fees. This trailhead is accessible by public transportation: several Muni bus lines run along California Street, a short distance from the trailhead, and there's a Presidio shuttle bus stop at Inspiration Point.
