The Haight Ashbury Free Clinics Rock Medicine Program will be featured on a new reality series entitled Rock Med premiering on VH1 on Friday, April 25. Mystery Girl Productions has planned an amazing event to help us kick off the series with a premiere screening party on Wednesday, April 23 at Studio Z, 314 Eleventh Street (at Folsom) in San Francisco at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $10 and proceeds will benefit the Rock Med program. Live bands include Bully, Tokyo Marine Fire and Nero. Kevin Cadogan, former lead guitarist of Third Eye Blind fame, will be showcasing his latest musical effort, Bully. Cadogan co-wrote 70% of Third Eye Blind's commercially released songs, including the hits "How's It Going to Be" and "Graduate." With Bully (featuring drummer Robert Crommer and bass player Dan Bruce), Cadogan is combining his flair for writing pop hooks and trademark guitar style with an edgier rock backdrop. From the ashes of San Francisco supergroups, Capsule and JoJo, rises the mighty TokyoMarineFire. An all-out, rock outfit, TokyoMarineFire is part Bowie, part Who, a hard edge and a little Kiss thrown in for good measure. Guitarist Brandon Arnovick has played and recorded with notable acts such as: Mick Jagger/Lenny Kravitz, Depeche Mode, Jamiriquoi, Korn, Nellie Furtado, Busta Rhymes, and Beck. Arnovick is joined by vocalist Bob Byers, bassist Chris Self, and drummer Ken Hard. After cementing their reputation in the underground Dublin rock scene, Nero has brought their brand of modern rock to the States. They have played to packed houses in many of Ireland’s premier live venues, including frequent sell-outs of Dublin’s 600 capacity Temple Bar Music Centre. DJ s.l.e.p, DJ Skip and DJ Osaru will be mixing an eclectic blend of Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, House, Funk, World and more. Special surprise guests will also be on hand. Complementary desserts will be provided. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.ticketweb.com.
