IDEX Report Back: Community stories from Africa, Asia and Latin America

In February and March program directors of International Development Exchange (IDEX) traveled to Africa, Asia and Latin America to visit the communities where our partners work to compile stories and acquire images of the amazing work being done at the grassroots. Please join us to hear these stories and how those in the developing world are coping and persevering in these times of political and economic instability. Kisha Montgomery, Africa Program Director, will share stories of progress and development occurring in Zimbabwe despite the current socio-economic and political crisis. Balu Iyer, Asia Program Director, will give voice to those participating in the micro-credit programs of IDEX partners in Bangladesh, India and the Philippines. Yael Falicov, Latin America Program Director, will share the ways in which poor women in Guatemala are organizing for change in the face of economic globalization policies that threaten to undermine the fabric of local communities. Each program director will give a general overview of the work being done at the grassroots in their region and illustrate their stories through slide shows. A Q&A session will follow their presentations. A $5 - 20 donation requested. No one turned away for lack of funds. Event is wheelchair accessible.
