7p Oakland. "Coca Mama - The War on Drugs," a film by Jan Thielen. Filmed over a year in four countries, this powerful documentary brings us coca-growing peasants, anti-narcotic patrols, and American lawmakers. The filmmakers gained unique access to the Columbian rebels who stand accused of protecting the drug trade. Millions of US tax dollars are being spent to eradicate drug production in South America, but there is little to no evidence that this has diminished the supply of drugs in South America or in the US. At the Grand Lake Neighborhood Center, 530 Lake Park Ave, Oakland (between Grandlake and Lakeshore, under interstate 580). Wheelchair Accessible. Cost: $1 suggested donation (no one turned away for lack of funds). Info: East Bay Community Against the War http://www.ebcaw.org, Emanuel Hemsi: 510-658-8994
