BUY LOCAL, BUY ORGANIC:
CHANGE THE WORLD
PRESENTED BY ZACHARY NORRIS
The International Society for Ecology and Culture (ISEC) has helped to set up farmers’ markets and educational programs in Europe, North America and Australia in order to create a closer link between farmers and the consumers of their food. Food can be fresher, healthier, and cheaper because it’s local; and local farmers can create more diversity of foods on smaller farms – everyone benefits. Also, local farmers can keep more of every food dollar since less of it is spent on packaging the food and transporting it around the world. Using ISEC’s Local Food slide presentation, Zachary will explain how eating locally produced, organic food is a springboard to building communities, reviving cultures, healing ecological systems world-wide, and steering societies away from dependency, addiction, and war. Let’s step back from “progress” and examine the devastating results; ISEC will be here with sensible solutions.
