BIO-DIESEL: EARTH FRIENDLY FUEL FOR THE FUTURE PRESENTED BY JON BAUER This day marks the birthday of Rudolf Diesel who designed his original diesel engine to run on vegetable oil. Join the Berkeley Bio-diesel Collective and Project Underground to celebrate his birthday. A panel of speakers from both organizations will speak to the beauty of bio-diesel fuel and facilitate a discussion on the unfortunate consequences of the production and consumption of petroleum oil and, on the other hand, the benefits of vegetable oil in regaining decentralized, democratic control over energy production and distribution. Driving a bio-diesel vehicle is an opportunity to confront the petroleum oil industry and change the world. The speakers are: Gopal Dayaneni, Clayton Thomas-Mueller, Jennifer Radtke, and Monsa Nitoto. Music and food are also part of this evening’s celebration.
