Fighting Racism and Repression During Wartime
(weekly public meeting of the International Socialist Organization)
Wed. Jan. 29, 7pm
223 Dwinelle
UC Berkeley
From Camp X-ray, to the forced registration and imprisonment of Arab immigrants, officially sanctioned anti-Arab racism is raging out of control. The internment of Japanese Americans in concentration camps during W.W.II reminds us that racism and repression are old tools of the US government. Fortunately people are fighting back as thousands picketed INS offices around the nation earlier this month. Come to the next meeting of the ISO for a report on the attacks on the civil liberties of immigrants and citizens, how people are resisting, and why we must say all immigrants are welcome here.
ASUC sponsored event. Wheelchair accessible.
Sponsored by the International Socialist Organization, publisher of Socialist Worker newspaper. Call (510) 594-4081 or check out
www.internationalsocialist.org. Call ahead for child care.
