The war began in 1492. The arrival of Columbus in so-called North America marked the beginning of the white world's assault on humanity with the genocide committed against the indigenous peoples of this land and the enslavement of African people. As the United States once again prepares an all-out war on Iraq, our schools and the media continue to feed us distortions and lies about United States' role in world. It's about time that we make the link between a society born of slavery and genocide and the current war and violence of the United States.
