MY HISTORY AS A HUMAN BEING
PRESENTED BY
BERNARDO GARCIA-PANDAVENES
Bernardo has been a fighter for Human Rights around the world. As a professor in the Bay Area, he co-founded Latin-American and Mexican-American Studies internationally and taught his students that it is everyone’s responsibility to make this world a better place for the world’s poor. Now retired, he was a model teacher: he got the mind moving! Arrested for exposing military corruption early on, including the mass killing of innocent people, he nevertheless became more vocal and became an awesome organizer in many organizations. We will hear the story of Bernardo’s life journey. He started life in Cuba rebelling against everything there is, especially undemocratic practices, in his journey to find freedom. He has always believed in absolute democracy, beginning in the home. The outcome of his religious-philosophical quest was his realization that to live, you must practice what you believe -- or you are dead. In later years, he has become a mystic and a Buddhist, connecting survival and community with respect and communication, showing us how all life is wrapped up in One.
