The Anti-Capitalism Reader: Imagining a Geography of Opposition (Akashic Books) Book Release Bash! This event is FREE! AK Press welcomes back Bad Subjects and Punk Planet editor Joel Schalit, along with a spectacular ensemble of contributors, for an anthology reading from The Anti-Capitalism Reader. This refreshingly non-doctrinaire collection of writings and interviews covers much of the intellectual geography of the new anti-market left that has become increasingly visible since anti-capitalist protests rocked the World Trade Organization's 1999 meeting in Seattle. The Anti-Capitalism Reader moves from politics to culture, gender, and alternative economic systems. Contributors include Naomi Klein, Slavoj Zizek, Toni Negri and Thomas Frank. Schalit's first book is Jerusalem Calling: A Homeless Conscience in a Post-Everything World, also available from Akashic Books. Joel will read, accompanied by contributors J.C. Myers, Megan Prelinger, Rick Prelinger, Jason Myers, and John Brady. BYOB & and cash for books
