An Evening of Learning, Music, and Solidarity.
Come support land and autonomy for the afro-indigenous people of the Nicaragualn Atlantic Coast!
Speaker: Dr. Maria Acosta known and respected human rights lawyer who has fought relentlessly for the rights of indigenous peoples in their struggle
to keep their land and culture alive in the ever-
expanding threat of globalization. She represents traditional community authorities and indigenous people in constitutional actions in defense of communal ancestral lands.
Video Showing: Our Land, Our Future/ A short documentary about the indigenous and ecology of the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua.
Music: Marimba Rhythms by German E. Mefia, son of the celebrated Luis Enrique Meijia Godoy.
$5-$20 Sliding scale, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
