Meet at the Main entrance of Downtown Berkeley BART
This Friday! That’s right folks, THOUSANDS IF NOT MILLIONS OF BICYCLISTS
SCREAMING DOWN EAST BAY STREETS! Or at least jingling bells and giggling a
bit! • The global movement of joyous street reclamations which started in San
Francisco ten years ago has now spread to over 300 cities across the Globe. Berkeley
was one of the first! Gather at Constution Plaza, at the main entrance of the
Downtown Berkeley BART, from 5:30 PM to leave after 6 PM this Friday October 11,
2002 (and every second Friday).
Book Release Party follows the ride
In honor of the publishing of Critical Mass: Bicycling’s DefiantCelebration, there will be a book release party with readings, food and drink, a showing of Ted White’s Critical Mass
documentary, We are Traffic, and if you’re lucky…a SMASH THE CAR PIÑATA! At AK Press, 674-A 23rd St. With global oil war unfolding, how can you afford not to
go to Critical Mass? And protest injustice to Berkeley Bicyclists! (Note: Critical Mass has no specific political platform, all are welcome).
