Join us for our free Harvest Festival on September 21 between 11 - 3 PM, at 1727 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way and 18th Street.
We will be celebrating 30 years of service to our community and our purchase
of the Grove Building. You will enjoy a day of fun, food, music and entertainment.
We've lined up a wonderful variety of performing arts groups of talented
young people from all over the county, including Ballet Folklorico, the Asian
Dragon Dancers, the Castlemont Castleers, the Prescott Clowns, the Oakland
Military Institute Drill Team and the Oakland Steel Drum band -- to name a few.
Bring your family. The children can enjoy the entertainment, get their faces painted and play games. They may even tour a fire engine and Kerry's Kids Mobile Health Van. There will be free goodies and door prizes, too.
Inside our building a docent will take you on a guided tour of our agency and you'll meet some of the wonderful people providing services. You'll also find a marvelous display of children's artwork, and for those of you who
want to enjoy a bit of soft music, our first floor conference room will be just the spot to relax and chat.
Sponsors for this event include: the PSS Board of Directors, City of Oakland, Port of Oakland, Excel Graphics, Wells Fargo Bank, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Core Communications, the Oakland Police & Fire Departments, Oakland Firefighters Random Acts, KQED, Soul Beat TV, and Mindseye Productions. Supporters include Safeway and Alberston's stores.
We will honor Tim & Roberta McCoy for their generous establishment of a Charitable Remainder Trust with PSS as their beneficiary.
Please join us for a free, fun-filled day!
