Film: "Closely Watched Trains" (1966) Directed by Jiri Menzel. This Czech film focuses on the life of Milos, an apprentice train dispatcher looking for a life of easy civil servitude in a German-occupied Czech town in 1942. Filled with wry moments of awkward seductions, white lies, and upbeat wistfulness.

This movie is brought to you free of charge as part of a winter film series at the Long Haul, a not-for-profit radical community space at 3124 Shattuck Ave., two blocks east of the Ashby BART. (510)540-0751
