Did Ya'all happen to catch Newsom's victory speech on KRON. Even with his voice being all hoarse he managed to convey the cocky arrogance of a drunken frat boy. The technical glitch made for a disturbing 60 seconds.
when Newsom reached the Microphone, , he (charmlessly) belted out "OH- THIS FEELS GOOD, HUH?!" -on KRON, these same 5 words repeated, -LOUDLY- over, and over, and over again for a full 60 seconds or more. Hearing it once made me bristle. By the third time, Gavin's tone and inflection, coupled with his choice of words, brought to mind images of an aggressive rapist, having just mounted his victim.
It would have been difficult to designs a more appropriate first communication from our Mayor elect, as he sets about raping our City's resources with a multitude of Privatization schemes.
I've read all of the "what happened" analysis on the Newsom victory. I believe there were 2 easily summarized factors; 1- the money to set up the organizational machinery of professional campaigners capable of identifying likely voters, getting absentee ballots to those folks, and badgering the ones who were slow to send them in.
& Factor #2- Gonzalez and his folks were simply to intelligent to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the "undecide
