Below is a reply to one of our several questions we asked of Hussein al-Hajj Hassan, a political representative of Hizbollah. Although we asked several pointed and critical questions, characteristic of our overall journalistic style, and Sheik Hassan belatedly answered only one of them, we wish to affirm to our readers that we are honored by this occassion and relate to you our overall high regard for the Hizbollah as a political organization, both for its principled stance against Zionism and racism as well as its highly developed political and military structure developed through adherence to Islam. Hizbollah serves as an example of what a Muslim revolutionary army can achieve when it upholds the example of Muhammad Rasulallah [sallah lahu alihi wa sallam].
Hussein al-Hajj Hassan, Ph.D., is a member of the Wafa parliamentary representation faction of Hizbullah. He spent long years of study in France and currently teaches in the Lebanese University.
Majdur [IMN]: Have American Muslims upheld their responsibility for Jihad against Israel? In defending Lebanon and Palestine, or Iraq? Does Hizbollah hold to a Fatwah that American Muslims are responsible to engage in Jihad against Israel? Against the United States?
Hussein al-Hajj Hassan [Hizbollah]: The main role of the American Muslims is to clarify the reality of Islam to non-Muslim Americans and to prevent any attempt to distort their picture, they have to work to form a Muslim and Arab task force to face the challenges.
