The War At Home & The War Abroad
Join the ILWU Local 10 Anti-War Action Committee when it looks at the growing costs of the war in Iraq and the war against working people in the US.
Special guests will include Japan rail union DORO-CHIBA chair Mr Masahiro Kawasaki. Brother Kawasaki will speak about the labor struggles in Japan against the Iraq war and militarization. He will also show a video of the 1day rail strike against the war taken by his union. This union is fighting for justice for the fired workers of privatized Japan Rail. These workers were victimized during privatization by the government and the company for being in a militant and democratic union.
There will also be a reports by ILWU Business Agent Jack Heyman and Executive Board member Clarence Thomas and a video screening on the attack on April 7, 2002 against anti-war protesters and Local 10 longshoremen in Oakland.
