Berkeley Bowl Employees Have the Right to Unionize!!
So Why Is Management Trying To Stop Them?
The employees of Berkeley Bowl have organized in attempt to establish a union that will protect and ensure their right to living wages, sufficient healthcare, and job security. Management has responded with typical anti-union tactics, in an effort to misinform and dissuade workers from excercising their legal right to organize.
As employees, we are forced to expect compensation well below industry standards, sub-par health benefits, and unsatisfactory working conditions. We feel that union representation is our best avenue for progressive change in the workplace.
What Can You Do o Help?
We feel now is the time for communiy suport. You can help the workers in their efforts by calling, emailing, or stopping by the Berkeley Bowl to state your opinion. Remind management that they need to recognize our rights, and that you as a customer prefer a store in which the employees are treated fairly.

Labor does not Create All Wealth...
merely toiling for an hourly wage.
it is by the grace of the employer that you can feed your children. and the workers duty is to work hard and be loyal to the employer that feeds his family. not to enter into dissent and demand more than he is entitled to

Labor is the final step in the creation of wealth to be sure, and it's likely undervalued and badly apportioned in terms of optimizing societal benefit. But "labor creates all wealth"? Hmm.
I want to work for Berkeley Bowl
But now with strike, I bet I can get your job!

Scabs are almost worse than kiss asses, snitches, or unionbusters...
I guess the question is which side are you on? Or maybe, do you really want to get fucked by Berkeley Bowl too?
I think a great author once wrote about scabs being the lowest of the low, but I am just a lowly blockhead worker, so what would I know?

The Scab
"After God had finished the rattlesnake, the toad, and the vampire, he had some awful substance left with which he made a scab."
"A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a water brain, a combination backbone of jelly and glue. Where others have hearts, he carries a tumor of rotten principles."
"When a scab comes down the street, men turn their backs and angels weep in heaven, and the devil shuts the gates of hell to keep him out."
"No man (or woman) has a right to scab so long as there is a pool of water to drown his carcass in, or a rope long enough to hang his body with. Judas was a gentleman compared with a scab. For betraying his master, he had character enough to hang himself." A scab has not.
"Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. Judas sold his Savior for thirty pieces of silver. Benedict Arnold sold his country for a promise of a commision in the british army." The scab sells his birthright, country, his wife, his children and his fellowmen for an unfulfilled promise from his employer.
Esau was a traitor to himself; Judas was a traitor to his God; Benedict Arnold was a traitor to his country; a scab is a traitor to his God, his country, his family and his class."
Author --- Jack London (1876-1916)
