Check out the flag behind the guy in the cowboy hat at the left center in the photo of the pro-bush demonstrators.
It's not an American flag at all. It's the AdBusters Corporate Flag.

In regard to the above photo...
Please be aware that not everyone in that photo is "lame" or "pro Bush".
I am a supporter of life, Code Pink, Peace, Love, and a Very Involved Activist. I chose to break down some barriers that day...
I talked with several of those "lame pro Bush"ers and had five interesting conversations. Good people. Firm in their beliefs, just like me/"us". Only 2 people were rude to me. I defended myself appropriately and walked away.
We will never experience peace until we can feel it within and express it outwardly in every moment possible.

I was there. Your pics are great. Thanks for sharing. I think you are right about secret service videotaping, and it was sinister seeing the official in the street searching his camera deep into the crowd to take pics of individuals. What is our population up against?
Perhaps they were compiling dossiers on protest organizers and activists, local, state, and federal law enforcement do this often. I think they were there to intimidate people as well as to see who was attending the protest that day. I have heard of excuses that say the police video tape demonstrations for crowd control training but I seriously doubt that, because SJPD and the Secret Service people were focusing on certain individuals. I think they might be preparing for the 2004 Republican Convention in New York City. I think they are expecting large protests as well as disruptions during the convention, and perhaps they will be using the footage they have of various protests to screen out people and detain them before they make it to a protest. That is my hunch as to why they were there. In addition, SJPD may be building up dossiers on south bay organizers.
here's a link of the military recording protesters in DC, 2002.
