This is disgusting. While it is perfectly "legal" to invade and ravage a nation, while the "liberation" sets development back an additional 40 years, a NONVIOLENT blockade "justifiably" supports retaliation. The gestapo in Oakland need to get off their high horses and at a MINIMUM display TOLERANCE and other ideals they hypocritically demand out of their citizens and others out of the control of the US. What hypocrisy that the same government that encourages waving our flags in proud support of our invasion, not liberation, forget that these flags were sewn in celebration of the triumph of freedom from tyranny of a controlling IMPERIALIST and for the ideals that prescribe openness to discourse and freedoms of religion and assembly and most important of all protection of INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND THEIR INNATE RIGHT TO THEIR OWN BELIEFS. In addition, who the hell is our government to tell us we are not allowed to prevent someone from conducting business via a blockade, we need only look at the brief history of the US to find the mentor for such a strategy.
It's a little hard to believe, but then in other ways not. The State responded this way with Kent State University in the Sixties, here it is again.
The Anti-Patriot Act reportedly also contains the power to dismantle unions if they obstruct with what the State wants to do.
In a sick and odd way, it's good to see the US doing more or less what it accuses other countries of doing.
This war with Iraq was a mistake from the beginning. It continues to be a mistake for all people in the US, Iraq and other countries. Yet, those who will make money off of this war continue to hold the power.
