SHOCK, AWE AND WAR GORE DELIVERED TO SAN FRANCISCO BUSINESSES
The bloodied bodies of massacred Iraqi women and children were delivered today to two notable San Francisco businesses complicit in their murder.
The San Francisco Chronicle and the Carlyle group were simultaneously targeted by protestors who dumped corpses and spilled blood effectively obstructing entrances at each location. Leaflets explaining the protest’s symbolism were dropped from the roofs of nearby buildings. The action is the first in a series of demonstrations intended to bring the gory reality of war home to those who perpetuate and profit from armed conflict.
Since the inception of the war, the San Francisco Chronicle has been complicit in the war effort. Coverage of the Shock and Awe assaults and the consequent destruction of Iraqi homes and businesses have been consistently refined to the paper’s back pages. To date, no photograph of any civilian casualties has been published. By portraying the war as a game, the Chronicle has ignored the ugly reality that war means the murder of the innocent.
The Carlyle Group, with offices in the Trans America Building, is a secretive investment firm managing some $14 billion in assets, including stakes in a number of defense- related companies. They are a chief contractor to the pentagon, and have invested in United Defense Industries, a maker of armed vehicles and weapons.
Protestors have vowed to continue their targeting of corporations complicit in the killing of the innocent. War profiteers beware: you are no longer safe from the shock and awe of war. Protestors will continue to bring the gore home until the war ends.
