IF YOU READ STARHAWK'S BOOK, THE FIFTH SACRED THING, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE HAS ENVISIONED...IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN! NOW IS THE TIME!
YES, PEACE!

Sounds like a nice idea, but do you actually think you could pull it off? I'll read your website while i think about it.

I had hoped we could seceed and become part of Canada. I bet parts of Washington and Oregon would be interested, too...but,

it's wishful thinking. They'll never let go of our tax revenues.

Yes, Starhawk's book (The Fifth Sacred Thing) addresses this. Her novel is placed in the future, once secession has already taken place. For works that are more about the actual process of secession check out Earnest Callenbach's Ecotopia Emerging and his other work Ecotopia, which deals more with the after effects of living as a separate country. Note: his books deal not only with the secession of San Francisco, but also the secession of N. California, Oregon, and Washington as a whole.

two words: president willie.

as a city, SF has elected the slimiest of slimes, the lowest of the low, the fuckedupedest of the fuckedup, in the form of one willie brown. soon it will elect an even lower form of filth in the form of one gavin newsom.

so if you secede, these subhuman scum will be elevated to the level of international statesmen! oh, the horror, the horror.

i won't be attending your planning meetings, but perhaps someone who does ought to propose that anyone who had membership in an american political party (demo, repub, green, libertarian, p&f, etc.) would be considered a loyalist and therefore ineligible to hold office in the new state.

but even that won't help you. when will you get it through your heads that the only way to end war, end poverty, and save the environment is to remove the concept of nation-states all together and wage unrelenting class war without authoritarian commie nonsense?

your new state will have rulers from the same class as the ones that control things now. until that class is utterly destroyed, huans will not be able to progress.
