Hello, I'm kn0x from Germany.
I stayed in Merced/CA for one year with a great host-family. But I missed something during this year, protest against what was going on, any kind of critical voice against the Bush Administration. I couldn't understand that, in Germany it is perfectly normal to not be overly patriotic and to criticize your government. And I made a great mistake. I made my own stereotype of an American, patriotic, ignorant, brutal, gun-lover. Now that I'm seeing and reading this, I must say that I'm proud of you. You are not nearly as free as your constitution says, and YOU fight it. Even though you are in a much greater danger when protesting than we are, you still do it. Even though you have virtually no free press (except from indymedia of course), you still gather the truth. You put much more effort into protest than we do, even though you are less nad have much higher opposition. And that makes me happy! I want to thank you for being different! You make me looking forward to coming back to Merced this summer. Keep your heads up!

During this mans arrest i was hit with a botton by a police officer because i said walking on the sidewalk isnt illegal assembly. After that we were walking on the sidewalk and two cops on motorcycles drove by stopped, and said, "keep walking punk, were gonna kick ur asses first." and drove off. I have no idea why he threatned us, becuase we were only 16 year old peacful protesters.
