the protest was very sucessful. We blocked off the stock exchange kinda (there were many entrances. we got the big ones, but people still came and went.), we got the first intersection at Bush right outside the stock exchange and while the cops were arresting people over there another group of protester went to Market st. and we stayed there for a while. Buses were backed up as far as the eye could see. A bunch of people got arrested, including my friend who is in this photo if it uploads right. the pigs were pretty brutal with him and everyone got really mad, especially since he was one of the only black people to get arrested. he didn't fight back and everyone shouted the badge number of the offending officer. thanks to everyone who got arrested and especially those who got carried off.
hope that answers yr question.

You should all be proud to be American, whre you can take your protests in freedom to the streets. This is unlike the people who live under the oppression os Hussein. This is what you should be fighting for, the freedomof the Iraqui people. You are all clearly misguided, and wrong. Shame on you.

All the protestors should be aajiled, and tried for treason, as would the Iraqui people if they dared critze Hussein. Send them all as sheilds, and see how much they love oppression.
by just wondering
that America should become more like Iraq?
by dcam
Maybe reporters are followed by iraqi agents, but the human shields aren't. Rarely do they come across someone who welcomes the war. Most people see Saddam and Uncle Sam as the enemy.

If you think Ameria is a democracy you have got another thing comin. A president of a democracy represents the people. Isthat what George is doing? Our founding fathers advocated protests and even the overthrowing of the government if it stops representing us. The "misguided" protestors are fighting for our right to be heard,to have a voice and people who supposedly love this country want them out. If we left, i wonder how fast our country woud resemble Iraq. Ask yourself: is there anything your beloved government can do where you would say "enough". How do you think the holocaust happened?Wake up.

"Yet these pleas have fallen on deaf ears."
No they haven't. You people just cannot and will
not play by the rules of democracy. You were out-voted
and now refuse to let others in this democracy live in
peace and go on with their lives.

From the East coast, it is great to be able to see both of our daughters making such beautiful music for the world. We even got a phone call here in Virginia that one of her former teachers saw Alli and her sax on the NBC evening news on Thursday evening.

I was arrested today.

As I sat down on New Montgomery and Market, I saw them walking towards us, them wearing riot gear, carrying metal battons. As I linked my arms around the people surounding me. I raised my voice, concentrating on the chants, repeating them over and over like a broken record.

" ma'am, please stand " they asked.. NO! I replied and dead wieght was soon to follow. They in thier riot gear flipped me over, I felt a foot on my neck.. my arms twisted back, jabs of pain went through my shoulders. " Were going to break your wrist if you do not cooperate" Dead weight was my reply. " Were going to break your thumb" Go ahead and try I said.

They lifted me up, dragged me to the police van and threw me inside. I spent the next 4 hours inside the holding pen...

My hands are swollen, I can hardly type and I am covered in bruises.

Was it worth it? Hell yes it was. I stood up for somthing today, I along with thousands of others stood up for somthing today and despite the bruises I got, I think I'll do it again tomorow.

- todays spellling errors were brought to you by the letters T J & F.

God bless those who fight for freedom in America through fully exercising their rights to protest the war. They are the only force counterbalancing an intentionally deceptive political administration and a media who continually attempts to brainwashing US citizens into believing that this war is justified.

Yes Saddam is bad but that's not the arguement. Is it worth destoying innocent non combatants for one leader? The more innocent lives the US takes the closer they come to recreating a Sept 11th like event in Iraq. When will the US learn?

What happend to the war on terrorism? Is this war part of it? OR Is it an elaborate scheme to place more money in the hands of the top 5% of the US most wealthy ( you do the research). The US should start a new mission called "Operation American Freedom, " to liberate the gross misrepresentation of what America has become under the current administration. May God bless those who actively, openly protest the war. They are real Americans.
