One undercover cop from Feb 16 identified: Sgt. Mikail Ali

by ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards)
One of the undercover cops from the Feb 16th protest has been identified with the help of the news coverage of the current scandal.

One of the undercover cops from the Feb 16th protest featured in the video found here and mentioned in this article has been identified with the help of the news coverage of the current scandal. While cynically (as one should) watching the Ch 2 News covering the investigation by chance (aired 10pm either Monday or Tuesday), I immediately recognized one of the cops (identified on TV as Sargeant Mikail Ali) they interviewed. It was undercover cop#2 from the aforementioned video. Sargeant Mikail Ali is stationed at the Ingleside District according to online information. The picture with the "skid car" and the bike was found online.

One thing I realized while following the case of the SFPD cops being investigated in this corruption scandal is how easy it was to recognize some of them from past protests in San Francisco, especially Deputy Chief Greg Suhr and Assistant Chief Alex Fagan Sr.

the SF Bay guardian story that A clay Thompson wrote that is a few stories down the newswire, involved a Freedom of information Act requested memo that listed names of a number of officers that we designated as undercover.
by Let's get to the root of this.
This is really interesting. Is this memo mentioned by the Guardian article readily available to the public? This is great since it sounds like the memo was requested by the Office of Citizen Complaints in San Francisco, which prosecutes complaints against police officers in a trial court procedure before a commission that has the power to fire officers and has used it.

From the article, it would seem very likely that one of these two cops below is Lieutenant Kitt Crenshaw. Can anyone identify him?

we should put their names, badge #s and photos on flyers and hand them out at the demos.

Just a tip for whoever uploaded these pictures. The small horizontal blur lines come from taking still pictures from a video without de-interlacing them.

You can avoid this by selecting "de-interlace" in whatever program you used to create the video captures. Or, in Adobe Photoshop, take the image and go to Filter -> Video -> De-interlace.

What I've found (at least on Final Cut Pro) is that those de-interlace filters sometimes de-interlace at the expense of blurring the overall image. Maybe Photoshop's filters are better at this... Having said that there's something about the aesthetics of interlaced video stills that somehow go well with this whole "spy"/undercover theme.
