I took a look at KTVU since I know their camera man was there for a bunch of the police violence.
You can watch two clips on the web at http://www.ktvu.com/
The first one, with Mayor Brown, starts off with some of the clearest video shots of the police abuses I've seen so far, which contrast rather well with Brown's propaganda that the demonstrators were out of hand. Watch a lone woman get rushed and hit hard, for example.
The second video ("tension mounts") was not that valuable in terms of exposing the police misconduct, but does show a lot of footage of the breakaway march.

both link to a video called "Tension Mounts at SF Demonstration". It's easier to go there and get it inline, but this might work for y'all:
Where's the first video?
that sucks! they censored it!
my stupid explorer shit would'nt copy the link or show the source so i couldn't post the link
have since switched to mozilla, alleged open source and better

if i had time i'd be calling ktvu to get an answer about why this was censored. i hope the camera person is not in trouble.

I've been advised that it would be good for me to publish RealVideo in 320x240 format rather than full size format, and to deinterlace the footage first. This is proving too much trouble to redo right now but I'll try to do it in the future. For now, it may help to make the window smaller while it's playing. I had received some compliments for posting in the larger size and assumed that any deinterlacing issues were being handled by the conversion software.

I really enjoy your footage it was well put together and well shot. I am however, concerned with the fact that you missed various parts that were pretty big you cut off all the speeches made on the meag phone during the standoffat about 5:30 or so just before we got shoved back into the sidewalk. you also missed them letting us off the sidewalk and the part where we start dancing to the nice beats and the part toward the end when we stopped dancing and sat down to block the traffic some more we were then arrested I was just thinking at that point where is a goddamed camera? it was the strangest thing there was no fucking camera none whatsoever. why not? there were fifty-something-odd cameras while the other things were happening.but when sixty-seventy people were arrested for peacefully assembling and dancing there were no cameras in sight why was this? because every body seemingly got tired or thought there was nothing left to see but I would think anybody was completely aware that as long as there are people there should be at least one camera.now, I could be wrong there could have been cameras there you infact could have beenm there but i have been on the web for a day and a half now and have found nothing yet in the way on photos, footage, or even a written report.
if I am mistaken, that is my fault and I have wasted both my time and yours. I would appreciate knowing where to find some of this media if it so exists. if you could e-mail me a list of links websites e-mail addresses phone nube4rs etc I would be rather appreciative.my e-mail address is listed above it is: subvertone [at] yahoo.com
thank you (I in no way seek to offend by this post simply point out the lack of availability of important documentation and media)

Notim,
Sorry if my piece (the longest one I've seen posted) was incomplete for you. It's a lot of work to edit the video and encode it, arrange it, write up the story and log, post it, etc. I deliberately made the hard choice to limit what I showed. Also, it was a big scene and there was a lot going on. Personally I have a not-so-good borrowed camera with a short battery life. For various good reasons, including the end of my battery life, I left when it seemed to be over. When people take actions which have risk of arrest they would be well advised to make sure there are some cameras around.
There could certainly be more efforts at organizing the use of video at demonstrations. We could be a lot more effective in many ways. I too noticed the sea of cameras earlier -- I wonder what everyone is doing with their footage? I hope they've at least contacted the legal effort, as even footage that doesn't seem dramatic can be extermeley helpful.
