Pretty sad to see you comparing this to a Simpson's episode. However, what was said about the NRA having their 'rallies' days after the trajedies that happened is FACT. The NRA are selfish S.O.Bs that lack brains and consciences and should be shut down. Leaders like Heston (and I use leader very lightly) should be ashamed of themselves and their actions.

Moore is NOT a dumbass. He is a very intelligent man who is bent on influencing public opinion against the right to own guns. Even if you don't like Moore, he'll impress you with the documentary. He ties gun ownership to violence in America and makes us believe that if there were not guns, there would be less violent.

The cities in America with the worst crime rates are those with the most gun control. Where I live, criminals think twice about committing crimes against anyone, because there is that chance that they'll meet a gun. Bad guys in NY, D.C., and Chicago do not have as much fear.

Michael Moore seems to be driving with no steering wheel - he's using a black man on death row to step on on his path to fame, he's virtually endorsed a NATO Supreme Commander as the 'Democrat' for president, he's helping to set-up Saudi Arabia for the next occupation with his 9/11 scenario of pointing it all at them, etc., etc.
His guns thing is equally bizarre - the movie would have been great if it had looked at the deeper picture more, and the numbers of guns less. It says that guns aren't the issue themselves, but then uses the Heston interview to push Mike into more fame. It was a good interview, but if the numbers of guns aren't really at the heart of the problem of violence, then what is the relevance of it except to associate Mike with anti-NRA, which draws more progressives in?
I agree with the views often expressed on whatreallyhappened.com - taking the guns away from the people is the way towards complete control of the people. Look at North Korea - would they even exist as a soverign state right now if not for their nukes? It's the same thing on a smaller scale with guns and citizens and their governments.
The camera only replaces the gun in an idealized world - we aren't there yet, not by a longshot.
And take a look at the state of our government right now - we have multiple criminals in office, and our 'president' has ordered the murders of many people using electricity in his home state. You think he's going to give a shit about anyone's life when his interests are at stake? Why the fuck should anyone not have a gun when our unelected leaders are convicted criminals?

Michael Moore is right, watching his video can really open your eyes to the shit that the media fills your head with. As it is clearly put in the documentary "Bowling for Columbine" the media focuses mainly on murders and violence to keep the American public scared enough to think that they will need guns to survive. And the N.R.A. is a group of violent people who think it is right to hold their rallies ten days after the Columbine massacre. Personally, I think they make me sick and they should realize that what they are doing is completely unethical. great, just great- so what "scotty" is saying is that no-one is safe without a gun? that is possibly one of the most paranoid things i have ever heard- you need a gun to have your freedom- what the hell kind of freedom is that?- when you have kids shooting other kids, you have gun controll problembs, listen up man, as much as a few americans would like to believe it america is not the perfect example on the way a country should be run- America has some great policies but that dosn't mean that they cant take a look around- I live in N.Z- it's pretty hard to get a gun here, but i dont feel like i've had my freedom stripped away, i do however feel great that none of the schools need METAL-DETECTORS installed just to reassure parents .

There seems to be a lot of hate flying around. I'm sure this is because of such a sensitive subject. I have my opinions but prefer not to call either "side" complete asses. I'm sure you all have your reasons, whether your relative/friend got killed by guns in the hands of the criminal and had no "protection" or psychos with guns walking the streets (the opposite).
Unfortunately, a vast majority make their decisions on this issue because of extremists. Moore and Heston being perfect representatives. They simply abuse the media to herd the mindless sheep in the world (too bad there are so many that can't make up their own minds). I personally dislike them both but use good old fashioned common sense here. This is only my opinion and its only one scenario but if an intruder breaks into my home, I dont want a baseball bat up against his handgun.
We all know (except for a handful ignorant few) that handguns will be available to criminals and terrorists FOREVER. There is no device that "closes down" the handgun's functions just because we ban guns all together. I do agree its insane how kids can walk into a school and have their way with mass murder. I also agree that people shouldn't walk the streets with a sidearm just because they were "permitted".
I do not agree with taking away the opportunity to protect your family when someone walks in with a shotgun. Be realistic (keep it in context). Now if you people that hate having guns in this world would do this... invent a tazer that knocks out the criminal within a milisecond and paralyzes them (then i can take my baseball bat to their empty skull). I will lean more towards that idea than bringing a baseball bat to a gunfight.
My point is only this... whether you hate me or not, the criminals and theives will ALWAYS have access to guns. While i do not agree with these innocent lives taken on "accidents" with firearms or people that lost their minds and go on killing sprees. ENFORCING very strong gun laws could make things a lot easier to understand. They are just too sloppy right now.
