Come one, come all, to Humboldt Co.
Come to Humboldt Co. for a summer of tree-sitting and direct action to save the last of the Ancient Old Growth forests left on this Earth.
We are putting the call out for thousands of people to come to Humboldt Co. for a summer of resistance.
There are currently three tree-sits in Humboldt Co.
One, Aradia, is on Gypsy Mountain, just up the ridge from where David "Gypsy" Chain was murdered, on September 17th, 1998; this timber harvest plan(THP) was marked within weeks of the out-of-court-settlement of the Gypsy wrongful death civil suit, and we are pushing for a living memorial for the life and death of our brother, Gypsy.
The other two sits are in Freshwater, a watershed that has been hammered by Maxxam, with the collusion of our governemental agencies, causing increased flooding, landslides, and sedimentation of Freshwater Creek.
Replacement sitters will be needed, until these areas can be permanently protected.
The Mattole is also an ongoing area of concern, and people are needed to help save this large area of Old Growth Doug Fir forests, meadows, springs, creeks, and rivers.
So grab your stuff, come to Humboldt Co., and spend your summer doing some real direct action.
With Bush in office, we really need thousands of people to rise up, with non-violence, and take a stand for peace and sustainable living. The forest is a great place to do this...remove yourselves from the cities, wash off the city grime, and get back to the Earth.
