Demo for homeless 2/9 Richmond
Come and protest Richmond's criminalization of homelessness on Saturday February 9 at 4:30 pm
We are standing against the criminalization of the homeless.
Saturday February 9
4:30 pm
Civic Center Auditorium
26th and Nevin (between Barrett and MacDonald), the entrance is in the central brick-covered square.
Richmond
We will have 2 large banners reading "Homelessness is not a Crime". Postcards for handing out and lots of signs will be available.
ps. Let's remember we are NOT targeting the NAACP. (This event is an NAACP dinner.)
We are targeting the city council people who passed this ordinance,
including the Rev. Charles Belcher, who is the organizer of the dinner
and a city council member who voted to criminalize the homeless.
.
We are also fraternally and sisterlly asking the participants of the
NAACP to talk some sense into the arrogance of the city council...
================
ALSO: 2/14/02
The Homeless hearts are broken!
Come to the Richmond Public Safety Subcomittee to condemn the criminalization of the homeless in Richmond. These are the City Council members most responsible for this ordinance.
Come to demand the Repeal of the ordinance that prohibits sleeping
in public ANYWHERE in the Whole of Richmond.
2600 Barret Ave, 3rd Floor City Council Chambers
