Honoring a “National Day of Solidarity with Democracy Now!” - KPFA 94.1 free speech radio activists rallied in front of the station on Tuesday morning - 8/28/01 - to support the staff of Pacifica Radio Network’s Democracy Now!
Amy Goodman and the Democracy Now! team have been suspended without pay for insisting on a violence-free workplace. Democracy Now! - which is being produced from a safe site in lower Manhattan and not Pacifica station WBAI - has been yanked off the air. KPFA in Berkeley is the only Pacifica station airing up-to-date broadcasts of Democracy Now!
