Thousands March In Santa Rosa As Part Of Boycott

by reposted
(BCN) SANTA ROSA Santa Rosa police report between 5,000 and 7,500 people marched from Roseland to Julliard Park in Santa Rosa as part of Monday's national "A Day Without an Immigrant" national boycott.
...

There was a mile-long backup on northbound Stony Point Road at Sebastopol Road where the march began earlier this morning but part of it could be attributed to construction activity in the area, Negri said. The rally in the park is expected to last until 4 p.m.

Nina Rosen, chair of the English As A Second Language Department at Santa Rosa Junior College, said there were no students at three classes this morning and only two or three students attended each of three other classes. Normally there are 25-30 students in each class, Rosen said.
