Fast 4 Education Day 11: Superintendent of Public Education talks to fasters
State Superintendent of Public Education, Jack O'Connell meets with organizers and endorses their demand to fully fund Prop. 98, then comes out to talk with the fasters on the lawn of the capitol.
DAY 11 OF THE FAST!
Organizers met today with State Superintendent of Public Education Jack O'Connell at 9:30am in his offices near the Capitol. The fasters' negotiating committee met with him to discuss their three demands. During those discussions, Superintendent Jack O'Connell agreed to greet the fasters between 2 and 2:15pm at the State Capitol on the corners of 12th Street and N Street. At that time, he will make a public statement.
Superintendent O'Connell says, "I appreciate the efforts of the fasters to raise awareness about the need for more money for education."
The fasters will continue their fast at the Capitol until Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger concedes to their demands.
