Pictures of First Arrest From MayDay Street Party

by Mahtin (themahtin [at] hotmail.com)
By my count, there were four arrests at the MayDay march today. Here are photos of the first person who I saw arrested.

About 50 people gathered at Yerba Buena Gardens to enjoy Food not Bombs soup, the sun, and the park. Security guards tried to tell the group that they could not be in the park, but the picnickers used their rights to free speech and freedom of assembly to stay the course. When they were ready, they marched into the street, led by a sound system. They marched down Mission Street, and then down Fifth Street to Howard. There were a total of four arrests- 3 men and 1 woman, and one or two of them were juveniles. Marchers then headed towards the "Hall of Justice," at 850 Bryant, to check on the adults, and planned to try to find the juveniles (juveniles are generally taken to a different facility).

This person had been with the bike trailer when he was arrested, as far as I could tell.
