In addition to calling Jerry Brown's office, please also call the Citizen Police Review Board at 238-3159. Politely ask when their next public meeting will be; after you get that info, you should speak your mind about this morning's events.

This puts them on notice that you'll be attending.

Their next meeting will be on April 10th at 6:15 pm in hearing room 1 at Oakland City Hall.

I hope a lot of people will be there.

For many years, the OPD have brutalized the poor and marginalized in Oakland; few whites have come face to face with just how bad they really are. (They were under serious restraint on Saturday at the march, it was very interesting. I think this was because they knew that they had City and County officials at the march.)

Well, now the OPD have staged an attack that lots of folks who read Indymedia are aware of. Let's use this time to open up a conversation about their rules of engagement, about their history of brutality, their constant bullshit about "a few bad apples."
