Right to a Roof: SF Housing Rally

Date:
Monday, May 10, 2004
Time:
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Right to a Roof
Location Details:
Meet: St. Paulus Church 930 Gough
(Following rally at church we will hit the streets and visit some city-owned sites that could be used to build low-cost housing.)

The City of San Francisco owns dozens of vacant lots, now collecting cans and garbage. The same city has lots of people who wouldn't mind building housing as long as it was the kind that they could afford to move into (e.g. sweat-equity, coops, non-profit etc.)

Community groups (including Coalition On Homelessness, SF Organizing Project, Homes Not Jails, Religous Witness) have been organizing to have these properties set aside for just that purpose.

Come to this important public action and support this!
