In celebration of the birthday of Huey Newton, the Commemoration Committee for the Black Panther Party presented the "Black History Program: Honoring Huey P. Newton" at the Black Repertory Theater in Berkeley. Huey Newton co-founded, along with Bobby Seale, the Black Panther Party for Self Defense in Oakland in 1966. Huey Newton was born on February 17, 1942.
