A first-hand report - what's wrong with U.S. policy in Iran

Date:
Sunday, November 18, 2018
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Type:
Speaker
Organizer/Author:
Peace Action of San Mateo County
Location Details:
Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo
300 E. Santa Inez Avenue
San Mateo, CA 94402

For many years foreign correspondent Reese Erlich has been a "go-to" source for reliable information and insights about the Middle East - including Iran. In 2007 he authored "The Iran Agenda: The Real Story of U.S. Policy and the Middle East Crisis". By the time Reese arrives as our guest speaker on Sunday, November 18, his follow-up book for 2018, "The Iran Agenda Today: The Real Story Inside Iran and What's Wrong with U.S. Policy", will have hit bookstore shelves.

Reese's talk is fittingly entitled "A journalist's first hand report - what's wrong with U.S. policy in Iran".
Reese's talk will take a broad view of our policies with Iran - in the present and possibly the future if we don't change course. The implications for the volatile region are sobering, and Reese will address scenarios, alternatives and actions we can take.

The November 18 event begins at 7 PM at the Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, 300 E. Santa Inez Avenue in San Mateo. Admission is free, contributions will be welcome. The UUSM is wheelchair accessible.

Reese Erlich has been a freelance print and broadcast correspondent for over 40 years. A Peabody Award-winning journalist, Reese's upcoming book (which will be available to purchase at the event) is just the latest of five books he has authored on foreign affairs.

Reese taught journalism for ten years in the California State University system and continues to lecture frequently on college campuses (and for peace advocacy groups such as ours) throughout the country. He also writes a syndicated column called, aptly, "Foreign Correspondent," which appears every two weeks on The Progressive web site (http://www.progressive.org) and other sites.

On November 18, come get the latest on U.S. relations with Iran (which, as usual, could change quite a lot between now and then) from a reporter who has been paying close attention.

Free, contributions welcome.
