There's a silly-seeming but essentially spot-on humorous interpretation of various political systems that features two cows.
Here are a few examples:
Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbour.
Communism: You have two cows. You give them to the government, and the government then gives you some milk.
Fascism: You have two cows. You give them to the government, and the government then sells you some milk.
Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.
Nazism: You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.
Come on a walking tour, surveying San Francisco social movements, that asks the paradigm-shifting question, "Where do these two cows graze?"
The underlying material question in nearly all questions pertaining to social justice is, "Who gets to use the preferred location?" That question engages Economic Rent and the distinction to be made between owning the Earth itself and owning the goods and services made by people.
Climate change issues, wage issues, housing issues, etc. all come back to the land question. Come on this walking tour if you're keen on getting a paradigm shift.
