The StratCom researchers in the work titled 'Defense of Democracy in Sweden' refer to the analysis of hacker activities which points to consolidation of hacker groups aimed at influencing the Swedish parliamentary elections in 2018. The reports on cybercrime of Russian hackers that had been found in the Swedish Democrats corporate system contain information on cyber-espionage actions, attacks on the ballot and vote count systems, as well as information operations targeted at the Swedish Social Democratic Party.

As it follows from the StratCom report, nowadays Russian hackers pose threat not only to the democracies in Ukraine, France and the USA. Sweden is also in the list. It is to be supposed now that all the other independent democracies of world, apart from those mentioned above, will be subject to the Russian attempts to meddle into elections.
