First, did you notice that all the politicians like Mayor Ed Lee and Supervisor Scott Wiener, referred to as anti-tenant, are DEMOCRATS, the same DEMOCRATS, who along with their fellow Republicans are ENGAGED IN GENOCIDE IN GAZA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. The contempt they have for Palestinians IS THE SAME CONTEMPT THEY HAVE FOR THE AMERICAN WORKINGCLASS. And it was the DEMOCRATS in the supermajority Democratic State Legislature who voted NO on proposed legislation to stop most Ellis Act evictions. It is the PRIVATE PROFIT SYSTEM that is destroying our housing and perpetrating genocide in Gaza. If you want affordable housing and an end to war, you have to vote Peace & Freedom or Green. Second, $4,000 a month is not rent for the workingclass, the 80% of us who sell our labor for less than $80,000 a year. Anyone who can afford to pay $4,000 a month NEEDS to buy a condo or house for the tax write-off. The only way these computer kids can afford that kind of rent is because they have stock options. A BA in computer science does not pay that kind of money, that is, they need to be making over $100,000 a year to afford $4,000 a month, and these computer kids are obviously not in the $100,000 a year and up class. I heard about the stock options from a local computer technician. The reason they benefit from stock options is because LABOR IS WEAK. ALL PROFITS ARE OUR STOLEN LABOR. This means that if labor did serious organizing, these computer technicians WOULD BE GONE as they would have NO STOCK OPTIONS.

Third, the question I ask all European tourists I meet is why does any European come to this backward country, where unlike all of Europe, we have no socialized medicine and we still have the death penalty? The young computer person interviewed in the video had a British accent. Did he come here to see American poverty? The UK needs computer programmers; he does not have to come here to do that. And he gets socialized medicine with it. If he is from Australia or New Zealand, the same is true. The United States is the most backward country in the industrialized world with the highest infant mortality and lowest life expectancy in the industrialized world. We have 50% poverty, that is 50% of Americans cannot provide $2,000 within 30 days to pay for an emergency. The next time a European is interviewed please ask (a) Why did that person come here where there is no socialized medicine? and (b) What have they found that they did not expect?
