The Environmental Crisis, Revolution, and the People’s Climate March in NYC September 21
If you have your eyes open to the world, the stark reality of the wanton destruction of the planet - its air, water, climate, and all the forms of life that inhabit it - screams out for urgent action. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report issued earlier this year is a call from scientists to confront reality. We are already in a global environmental crisis, and without urgent and radical, global transformations things will get much worse. The rich biodiversity of the planet may be irreversibly endangered with increasing numbers of species becoming extinct and the natural environment being destroyed at staggering rates. This is what capitalism has done to the planet, and what the continued existence of the capitalist system will do, unless it is overthrown by revolution.
This forum will be a presentation and discussion on confronting the environmental crisis, including reaching out to and participating in the People’s Climate March. We need to bring to the people straining to save the planet why and how we can make revolution and how humanity can truly become caretakers of the planet, not its destroyers.
